I’ve donated several remote training and coaching opportunities through Nose Dogs Detection Services to support a fundraiser for Marana Police Department’s newest K9 officer, Falco

As someone who works with detection dogs as a trainer, breeder, handler, and instructor, supporting working K9 teams is something I believe strongly in. Making sure they have the equipment they need to stay safe is something our broader dog community can help with.

The fundraiser is being organized by the Sonoran Desert Scent Work Club during their March 20–21, 2026 scent work trial, but tickets are available virtually until the drawing deadline.

If you purchase raffle tickets, you’ll have a chance to win training sessions with me or other raffle prizes, while helping provide a ballistic vest for a working police dog.

You do not need to attend the trial to participate. Raffle tickets can be purchased from anywhere.

Training Opportunities I Donated to the Raffle

The following raffle prizes offer several ways for handlers to receive support for search analysis, coaching, and training strategies.

Tier 1 Remote Mentorship – One Month (Typical value: $300+)

A one-month remote mentorship experience designed for handlers actively training and wanting structured feedback while they work.

Includes:
• Weekly video review submissions (up to 2 videos per week, not exceeding 10 minutes of total video)
• One 30-minute consultation
• Messaging support for ongoing training questions

This format allows teams to receive feedback while training is happening rather than waiting until problems develop.

Search Analysis Video Review Package (Typical value: $150)

A package of six structured video review credits.

Handlers may submit search videos for detailed analysis focusing on reading the dog, handler timing and decisions, search strategy, environmental factors, and identifying training patterns and next steps.

Training Diagnostic Session (Typical value: $135)

Sometimes a single search reveals a lot about a team’s training patterns.

This diagnostic includes one video review (up to 6 minutes) and a 30-minute consultation to analyze what is happening and discuss productive next steps.

Trial Weekend Support (Typical value: $125)

Remote strategy and coaching support during a scent work trial weekend.

Includes:
• Pre-trial strategy discussion
• Day-of messaging support during the event
• Post-trial debrief and review

Focused Training Consultation (Typical value: $75)

A 30-minute consultation to discuss a specific training question, troubleshooting issue, competition preparation, or strategy discussion.

Scent Work University Webinar – Judith Guthrie (Typical value: $35–$45)

The winner receives access to one Judith Guthrie webinar hosted through Scent Work University.

The winner may select any Judith Guthrie webinar currently available in the Scent Work University webinar library.

The total estimated value of the training opportunities I donated is more than $820.

Ticket Deadlines

Online raffle ticket sales close March 20 at 6:00 PM.

Tickets may still be purchased in person at the trial until 11:00 AM on March 21.

All raffle proceeds will go toward purchasing a ballistic vest for K9 Falco, helping ensure he has the protection he needs while working in the field.
